The opening ceremony will take place on Monday, 02.03.2026 from 16:00 to 17:30 o'clock in HS1, Institutsgruppe 1, Wilhelm-Klemm-Str. 10, 48149 Münster.
The company exhibition begins on Monday, 02.03.2026 following the opening ceremony. In our 30-minute “Company Slam”, the exhibiting companies will have the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves on a slide. Following the presentation, the exhibition will be opened with snacks and drinks.
On Tuesday, 03.03. 2026, from 13:00 to 14:00 o'clock, exhibitors will present their equipment in an open area next to the event building. In case of bad weather, the equipment demonstration may be postponed to Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the same time.
The student evening will take place on Monday, 02.03.2026, starting at 18:30 in the Institute of Geophysics, Corrensstr. 24, Room 315. Free drinks and snacks will be provided. Later in the evening, we will take a bus together to the city center to Café/Bar Fyal to conclude the evening. The event is organised by geophysics students from the University of Münster and supported by the DGG and the company Asdro. To participate in the student evening, a separate registration is required for participation.
This session is organized by the Equal Opportunities Committee of the DGG. During the session, geophysicists and fathers will share their personal experiences of balancing family and career in different contexts (university, industry, etc.). The committee has invited social scientist Dr. Ayhan Adams from the University of Osnabrück to place these personal accounts in the context of his research on work–family balance.
The session will take place on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 11:30 to 13:00 o'clock in Lecture Hall 3 (HS3).

The traditional DGG Conference Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 03.03.2026 from 19:00 (admission from 18:30) in the Mensa am Aasee, Bismarckallee 11, 48151 Münster. Drinks will be charged individually using personal consumption cards, including refunds of unused amounts. A consumption ticket worth €10 is included in the registration price; additional tickets can be purchased on the evening. Separate registration is required to attend the Conference Dinner.

The Meet & Greet breakfast for female scientists will take place this year again. The aim of the event is to offer a platform for mutual exchange. Female students will have the opportunity to meet professionally advanced female geophysicists and get to know different career paths in a personal conversation. The breakfast will take place on Wednesday, 04.03.2026, from 8:00 to 9:30 o'clock at the Inst. f. Geophysik, Raum 315, Corrensstr. 24, 48149 Münster. Separate registration is required for participation. The number of participants is limited to approx. 50 people.
On Wednesday, 04.03.2026 from 13:00 - 14:00 o'clock the “Lunch-Seminar Career Perspectives” will take place at Seminarraum F (SRF) at IG1. Geophysicists will present examples of their careers in the field of geophysics and will be available to answer questions. Registration is required for participation.
This year the following speakers have been invited: Niklas Epple (BAM/Spree Monitoring), Jörg Ebbing (CAU Kiel) und Martin Zeckra (Erdbebenstation Bensberg/Universität zu Köln).
The general assembly of the DGG will take place on Wednesday, 04.03.2026, from 17:00 to 19:00 o'clock In the HS1 at IG1. DGG members are requested to attend in large numbers. Guests are welcome.
The DGG's public evening lecture will take place on Wednesday, 04.03.2026, 20:00 - 21:00 o'clock at H1 of the Hörsaalgebäudes Schlossplatz, Schlossplatz 46, 48143 Münster. The topic is ""Können die Vulkane der Eifel wieder erwachen". Vortragender: Torsten Dahm (GFZ Helmholtz-Zentrum für Geoforschung). Conference participants and guests are welcome. This lecture will be in German.
A Lunch'n'Learn will take place on Thursday, 05.03.2026, from 13:00 - 14:00 o'clock at Seminarraum F (SRF), IG1.The aim of this event with a keynote speech and lunch is to network young geoscientists in order to promote exchange on both a professional and personal level. Registration is required for participation.
We were able to get ASDRO (a spin-off of the University of Münster, founded in 2019) to report on its beginnings, its development and its current range of service.
The annual conference ends on Thursday, 05.03.2026, with a festive closing event. This will take place at the HS1 of the Institutsgruppe 1. There, the 3 best presentations and 3 best posters of student participants will be honored with prizes. The prize money is 150 €!
The working groups and committees of the DGG have the opportunity to meet during the annual conference. Seminar rooms will be made available for this purpose. Those responsible are requested to notifying dgg2026@uni-muenster.de of their requirements by 24.01.2026, stating the date, the expected number of people and any technical equipment required.
